Backbend Confidence is a beginner-friendly workshop designed to build understanding, strength, and confidence in backbending safely and progressively. This session focuses on helping you feel more supported and informed as you approach spinal extension.
The workshop explores the fundamentals of backbending from an anatomical and functional perspective. You will learn how to prepare the body through shoulder opening, hip flexor release, core engagement, and spinal segmentation. These are key components of a sustainable and safe backbend practice.
Throughout the session, backbends will be broken down to help you approach them with greater awareness, activate essential muscle groups, and reduce common mistakes that can lead to compression in the lower back. Progressive methods to deepen backbends are introduced using breath, alignment, and appropriate modifications.
Options and variations are offered throughout, making this workshop accessible for those new to backbends while still providing depth for practitioners looking to refine their technique.
